Our Mission
At Thistle & Oak Mini Highlands, our mission is simple: to raise the finest quality Miniature Highland cattle and place them with families and homesteaders who will provide them with loving, responsible homes. We believe every animal deserves individual attention, proper nutrition, and a life well-lived. We are selective about our breeding program and equally selective about where our animals go, because each one is raised as part of our family.
Animal Care Standards
Our animals are raised on pasture with access to fresh water, quality hay, and mineral supplementation year-round. Each animal receives regular veterinary care, vaccinations, and hoof maintenance on schedule.
- All cattle are halter-trained and socialized from an early age
- Regular vet checks, vaccinations, and deworming on schedule
- Pasture-raised with adequate space and shelter
- Breeding records and lineage documentation provided
- Health certificates available for all animals
Adoption Process
Submit an Inquiry
Fill out our adoption application through the Inquiries page. Tell us about yourself, your property, and which animal interests you.
Application Review
We personally review every application to ensure a good match. We will reach out within 1–2 business days to discuss your situation.
Farm Visit (if possible)
We welcome prospective adopters to visit and meet the animals in person. We believe in transparency and want you to feel confident.
Finalize & Bring Home
Once approved, we finalize the paperwork, health records, and arrange transport or pickup. Your new family member comes home!
